Impero Logviewer makes it easy to see exactly what your network users have been doing on their computers for days or months back. Reports can be easily generated on network computer activity and can be used to prove access to particular network resources. Impero logviewer also gives you access to previous resource access violations and the evidence to prove it.   Impero Master Logviewer Monitor and Record remote screens Impero allows you to watch all computer screens live from your own computer. You can discretely monitor what is happening live and record remote screens for later review. Choose from Live images or Still thumbnails. The total Thumbnail images viewable at any given time is only dependant on your screen resolution and Impero can display up to 16 attached monitors per thumbnail. Two console users can view the same live thumbanails simultaneously.   Live Thumbnails View current and previously opened windows Besides viewing a live image of remote computer screens, you can see all current open windows and previously opened windows of any logged on user. This is useful when a user is trying to hide a particular website. It doesn't matter if they minimise or close this website and pretend to continue working, you can see it anyway. From the Impero Console you can see all websites and applications users have opened, all printed documents, all deleted files and much more   Current Session History Detect written words and sentences, with screenshot or video evidence Impero was the first application on the market to offer realtime alerts upon detection of written words and phrases. Once detected, Impero will take a screenshot or video for evidence and archive for later review. This feature is perfect for discrete detection of abusive, violent or discriminatory behaviour by users on your network. The user is not alerted to the fact that what they have written may have been logged as evidence.   Violations View evidence of attempts to access previously banned resources Being alerted when an illegal resource is accessed can be invaluable. Network users no longer dare to go off task - they know the administrator or manager will be alerted! To make things more interesting, a screenshot or video of the access attempt is recorded for evidence. An example of this could be to detect when a student tries to access MSN Messenger, Impero will block this application, but a screenshot of the access attempt will be available and optionally stored for later review. Perform an operation upon violation detection Upon detection of any violation, be it an attempt to access a banned resource or a written phrase violation, Impero can perform a number of consecutive actions. For example, take a screenshot then log the user off after emailing the administrator. Management Blank/Freeze some or all computer screens Gaining attention from users is no longer a difficult task. At the click of a button all computers will be locked. Even if the computer is restarted, Impero will automatically lock the screen again.   Blank Screens Restrict users to an 'Allow Only' List Its one thing blocking access to a multitude of websites or applications, but Impero will allow you to force users to use only a select few websites or applications. Any attempt to access anything not on the list will result in a violation. Wildcards can be used. For example, "c:\*.exe" to allow only applications to run from the C: drive. Block access to any website, application, folder, hardware device or file One of Impero's most powerful features is the ability to block access to any resource available, with just 2 clicks of the mouse. Once blocked, the resource cannot be accessed by any network user in the same group. If the resource is accessed, you will be instantly alerted, the resource will be banned and you can retrieve a screenshot of the violation for evidence. As a result, Impero is able to help keep users on task during computer access times. This feature can be scheduled so Impero can do the hard work for you... For example, create a policy called Banned Internet, then schedule it to turn on at certain times of the day or week. You can block printer access, mute the sound or block access to anything you feel is a distraction to the computer user. Schedule actions All policies in Impero can be scheduled. There are 5 policy types: Blocking, Allow-Only, Whitelist, Action and Firewall. Each can be scheduled to provide an advanced filtering system tailored exactly to your needs. Even certain Impero features can be scheduled.   Live Thumbnails Change network passwords Saving time, Impero will allow certain console users access to change other users' network password. Ideal in an educational environment where the teacher can change student passwords. This feature just like all features can be restricted to certain users. Enable/Disable windows accounts Just like the change network password feature, this feature can disable or enable windows accounts denying users access to the computer. You could acheive the same by locking the computers before the users log onto the computer. Immediate, delayed or scheduled Power on/off of all computers (go green!) Power management helps reduce electricity bills and with Impero's power on/off features, you can not only save money by scheduling these events, but also make the start and the end of the day easier by making powering up and down the computer easier and more convenient.     Create simple or complex grouping structures Impero has a very flexible group creation system allowing you to create groups based on username, computer name, ip address, mac address or even for terminal services - the physical hostname. For each group, you can attach different policies making Impero extremely comprehensive yet user friendly.   Groups Send/Collect Files Impero allows you to transfer files from your own computer to one or many remote users. The file will be sent to the remote users Home Directory(whether that resides on their computer or on a remote server) or a location of your choice. Once the file has been sent it can be automatically opened ready for the user to work with or opened silently with administrative permissions, passing any parameters to the file you wish - ideal for administrative tasks.   Send File Send instant messages or create a chat forum Creating a Forum for users allows you to keep in constant communication with them wherever they are. In an educational environment you can have one forum for staff, another for your own classroom and another for several students. In a business environment a private forum or message is an ideal way to get your messages across privately with the added security that it is instant. The messages can be Rich Text so you can change fonts and add images.   Ask questions/survey/exam With a few clicks of the mouse you can ask all users in your group a yes/no, multiple choice or written answer question or several questions to form a basic survey. The results of the question/survey are returned to you so you know who gave a particular answer. This feature is an extremely quick method of gathering results from a set of users on a particular topic.   Question/Survey Run Files and Websites Impero gives you the ability to open a document, website or run a file on any remote computer. This makes light work for teachers since you will not have to ask students to browse to a URL that is 30 characters long, simply run the website for them. You can run the file on the remote computer in the logged in users context or as another user; ideal for remote software installation.   Run File/Website Shutdown, Restart or Logoff any network user Being able to remotely shutdown computers is a very simple but very useful tool. With the additional options Impero provides, this feature becomes an invaluable tool. Teachers who struggle to stop computer usage at the end of the lesson will be happy to know you can force students to log off so there is no more waiting for them to finish. Disable duplicate logons It's a common problem that some network users 'lend' their password to other users. Enabling this feature on Impero will stop this. All users should use their own username and password to gain access to the computer network and Internet. This feature just like any other feature can be enabled or disabled per group so only the users you specify will be affected. Automatic shutdown/logoff when idle for a period of time (go green!) This feature gives you the ability to automatically log off or shutdown computers when they are not in use. Useful for power management and can save your establishment lots of money in power bills. If the computer is left idle for the time you specify, it automatically shuts down or logs off (group dependant). The user on the remote PC is warned that they have been idle too long and will be logged off, with the option to cancel.   Idle Logoff/Shutdown Printer crediting (go green!) The printer crediting system within Impero is extremely powerful, enabling you to charge network users to use certain printers. A cost per color or mono sheet, per printer can be established and each user can be given credits to print with.   pCredit Administration Remote Command Prompt For the more technically minded, a remote command prompt can prove to be an invaluable tool. This offers a lot of functionality through one feature, from refreshing group policies to remote defrag. Operations can be performed on one or many computers at the same time - in the case of remote defrag, you can defrag your entire network in one go.   Command prompt Remote Task/Services Manager The Remote Task Manager allows you to see the CPU usage of every PC on your network at the same time, then see which process on remote computers are causing a high CPU or memory load. You can even end the remote process. Besides processes, you can see, start and stop any Windows Service on one or multiple computers.   Remote Task Manager Remote Log on This feature allows you to log on to one more more computers at the same time as any user. Ideal for technicians wanting to perform some administrative task on many computers - instead of manually logging on to the computers, Impero can do it all for you. Remote Find Files Scan your network computers for files using wildcards then perform a delete, copy, move or rename operation on any file it finds matching your criteria. This feature is ideal to clean up remote computers of .tmp or .mp3 files. Macro keyboard events / MiMiC Need to perform a sequence of events on multiple computers? eg. change screen resolution or change the computer name? MiMiC Scripts let you simulate keyboard presses on multiple computers at the same time as defined in a custom script. If you know the keyboard keys to press, then type them into the script window and press go - it will press those exact keys on all ticked computers; easy.   MiMiC Scripts Deploy Software If you need to deploy some software quickly and instantly - even without Impero installed to the remote computer, you can with this feature. Any .msi file can be remotely deployed. LDAP/Active Directory integration allows you to deploy to the correct computers and install software silently without intervention. If the installation does not have an .msi file, you can use the MiMiC script feature. Full Hardware/Software Inventory An extensive hardware and software inventory is gathered before any user logs onto their pc. This report is then sent to Impero server for storage and later review. Reports and graphs can be generated for search criteria you specify. For example, how many computers on the network have Intel CPUs or a particular graphics card.   Inventory Advanced blocking/policy system We are quite sure there is no other product that offers a blocking system like ours. This feature is the core of Impero and was one of its first features. The blocking system in Impero allows you to block virtually anything that is visible to the remote user. Be it Files, Folders, Websites or Applications. As a website filtering engine, Impero can be used to detect URLS or HTML content and block the page if it matches the wildcard expression you specify. Using wilcards you can block access to executable files on Flash Disks, or only allow applications to run from the c:\ drive. Each policy can be scheduled to turn on or off at certain times and each block can have its own action or actions to perform upon detection. For example, if a bad word is detected in a website's HTML Content, Impero can block the page, take a screenshot, record a 10second video then log the user off - No other product can do this at the present time.   Blocking Engine Extremely Fast Remote control Remote control is not uncommon these days, but Impero is special. It is not only extremely fast (minimal bandwidth & low cpu), but you can remote control up to 16 displays per remote computer (multi-monitor support). Also watch live thumbnails of an unlimited number of remote machines much like CCTV. While watching these thumbnails you can take control of, or record, any number at the same time. Impero could be used to remotely support users, monitor what someone is doing or be used to manage your servers. You can even drag and drop files to the remote control window to move files to or from the remote computer!   Remote Control LDAP/Active Directory Integration If you enable this option: # Impero can use or import groups from LDAP/AD # Console access rights can be established using LDAP/AD security groups # Network user passwords can be changed # Network user accounts can be enabled or disabled Instruction / Ease of use Broadcast your screen to others Using Impero's remote control technology, you can send a live broadcast of your screen to one or more networked users that you select. While broadcasting you can annotate your screen to better inform who is watching.   Broadcast Screen Broadcast user screen to others Besides broadcasting your own screen to others, you can broadcast a network user screen to everyone else. In an educational environment this can be used to demonstrate a students good work. Assign user tasks Sometimes users need a bit of prompting to complete work. This feature allows you to monitor who is completing their work and how quickly. Assign the users some tasks to complete, then watch and wait as each users lets you know when each task is done. A simple, yet very effective feature.   User Tasks User friendly Interface We have somehow managed to incorporate an exhaustive list of features into a very tidy and easy to use interface. All featurs are accessible using the menu bar or right click for the more experienced users. Impero also boasts a Quick Access Toolbar which you can customize to have the features you use more often. All in all Impero is comprehensive yet intuitive, graphical and easy to use.   Quick Access Toolbar Network Based Being a Network based application rather than an peer-to-peer/per lab application, Impero 'knows' about each computer on the network without having to scan for clients. This means anyone who has access to a Console can simply run the application and see the computers they need to manage straight away. Being server based, Impero can continue to operate without any Consoles running and all settings are stored centrally - unique to Impero. You can also run a console from any computer on the network with the correct access rights, without having to buy additional licences.   Security Security and updates Easily configure who can access an Impero Console using computer name, username or AD/LDAP groups Each Impero process is encrypted and protected The communication between clients and server uses 256bit AES encryption All files stored on the Impero Server are encrypted Impero automatically updates itself using the Internet if any vulnerability is discovered Impero will not fail to operate if the network cable is unplugged or if the PC is restarted The services continue to run in safe mode and only administrators can uninstall the product We offer 24hour support and regular product updates.
